Forum Rules and Posting Guidelines

Welcome to BKEX: Bitcoin Knowledge Exchange!

Join our cryptocurrency discussion forum and connect with a global community of bitcoin and crypto enthusiasts, traders, and investors.

1. Be Respectful and Civil
It’s natural to disagree sometimes, but it’s important to keep discussions polite and constructive. Think of this forum like meeting people in person at a crypto meetup or conference. If you wouldn’t say something to someone face-to-face, don’t post it here. Just to be clear: threats, profanity, or any kind of discriminatory language (related to race, gender, religion, or anything else) won’t be tolerated.

2. Stick to the Topic
When starting a new discussion, choose the appropriate sub-forum. If you’re unsure, don’t stress – we can move it if needed. When replying to an existing thread, keep your response relevant to the original discussion. If you find yourself branching off into a new topic, consider starting a fresh thread instead of derailing the conversation.

3. Add Value to the Discussion
We strive to keep this forum insightful and worth everyone’s time. Think of it like this: if your post takes less than 30 seconds to write, it might not be adding much to the conversation. Before posting, ask yourself: Is this clear? Is it relevant? Is it helpful? Avoid reviving old threads unless your update genuinely adds to the conversation. Don’t bump threads unnecessarily.

4. Use Private Messages for Personal Replies
Our forum’s private message feature is ideal for questions or comments directed at specific individuals. For instance, instead of posting “PM sent!” in a thread, just send the message. The recipient will get a notification – no need to clutter the thread for everyone else. Similarly, if you’re discussing details like shipping costs, handle that via PM. Let’s keep the threads focused on topics that interest the broader community.

5. Follow Copyright and Legal Guidelines
This is a space to discuss bitcoin and crypto, so feel free to discuss any related topics. However, we draw the line at encouraging or enabling copyright violations or other illegal activities. Even if you disagree with certain laws, this isn’t the place to promote workarounds or questionable practices. For example, discussing how to pirate software is strictly off-limits.

6. Report Spam or Abuse
If you come across spam, abusive posts, or anything illegal, please report it. Look for the “Report Post” icon (a triangle with an exclamation mark) under each post. This alerts our moderators, who will handle it promptly. Not sure if something needs reporting? You can always message a moderator for guidance.

7. Threads and Messages are Approved Manually
To keep spammers at bay, we moderate all posts from new users for the first 10 posts. This might cause a slight delay in your messages appearing, but it’s a temporary step to ensure the forum stays clean and welcoming. During this time, new users also have limited inbox space and are rate-limited for sending private messages. We appreciate your patience – the restrictions will lift before you know it!
